Learn to Swim Manager

York Swimming Academy Ltd. is looking for a driven, ambitious, and passionate Learn to Swim Manager to join our highly experienced leadership team to lead and grow our thriving learn to swim programmes. With 1,200 weekly members across five venues in York, this is an exciting opportunity to take the reins in enhancing lesson quality, driving membership growth and developing a fantastic workforce.
The successful applicant will:
- To manage the learn to swim provision;
- Act as the key point of contact for customers;
- Line management of teaching and lifeguarding workforce;
- Drive growth of learn to swim programmes;
- Improve the quality and standards of teaching across the learn to swim scheme;
Applicants will be an experienced Level 2 Swimming Teacher and have (or be willing to undertake) the RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or equivalent. With previous experience of coordinating a learn to swim programme, you should be able to prioritise your workload, have excellent communication skills, be able to work on your own initiative and be capable of leading and mentoring a diverse workforce across multiple venues and functions.

Ongoing Part Time Opportunities:
We are always looking for talented individuals who share our passion for swimming. We operate seven days a week and our lessons take place at a range of venues across York. See below, our current part time opportunities:

Assistant Teacher (Level 1)
The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Help, teach and coach people of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water;
- Assist the Lead Swimming Teacher to deliver sessions in a professional manner and undertake administrative tasks associated with the role (i.e. lesson plans, class registers, monitoring and evaluation).
Applicants will hold the Swim England Level 1 Teaching Qualification. The successful applicant will be friendly, patient and able to work effectively as part of a team. We are looking for somebody who is committed to their own development and keen to learn.

Lead Teacher (Level 2)
The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Help, teach and coach people of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water;
- Deliver sessions in a professional manner and undertake administrative tasks associated with the role (i.e. lesson plans, class registers, monitoring and evaluation).
Applicants will hold the Swim England Level 2 Teaching Qualification and further qualifications in teaching Baby & Toddler lessons is desired. The successful applicant will be friendly, patient, well organised and able to inspire confidence and motivate our customers.

Lifeguard (NPLQ)
The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Supervise customers throughout our facilities, ensuring their safety and satisfaction at all times;
- Carry out rescues and administer first aid as required;
- Assist the Swimming Teachers in setting up the pool for lessons;
- Maintain our venues to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene;
Applicants will hold the RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and AED certification is desired. The successful applicant will be friendly, naturally helpful and vigilant.
